Signs it's the battery
A slow, labored crank, rapid clicking when you turn the key, or a dashboard that flickers and dies usually point to a flat battery. Lights left on, a door left ajar, cold mornings and lots of short trips all drain it.
If the engine cranks normally but will not fire, the problem is likely elsewhere, and a tow may be the better call.
What happens on a jump start
- We check the battery type and terminal condition before connecting
- We start it with a professional jump pack, not another car
- Once it runs, we check the charging voltage so you know if the alternator is keeping up
- If the battery will not hold a charge, we tell you and quote a replacement on the spot
After the jump
Keep the engine running for at least 20 to 30 minutes, ideally driving rather than idling, so the alternator can put charge back in. If the car has needed a jump twice in a week, the battery or the charging system needs attention.

Is a jump start safe for my car's electronics?

Can you jump start a hybrid or an EV?
Hybrids and EVs still have a 12-volt battery that can go flat and stop the car from powering up, and in many cases it can be jump started. Tell dispatch the model so the tech arrives with the right approach.
What if the jump does not work?
Then the problem is not only a flat battery. If the battery is at fault we can quote a replacement; otherwise we can tow the car to the shop of your choice.
